Welcome back to 704 Air Force City Cadet Squadron!
I hope everyone had a great summer and Congratulations to all Cadets who enjoyed a summer training course. I am looking forward to hearing about your experience.
Our Squadron will NOT be training at the Trenton Cadet Training Centre this year. We will be at Marc Garneau School, 30 Fullerton Avenue, Trenton.

First Training Night - Monday 11 September 2017 at Marc Garneau School, 30 Fullerton Avenue, Trenton.
NOTE: New recruits and Cadets requiring uniform exchanges are to wear black pants and a white shirt until sized and uniform parts are in stock. Summer training shirts/hoodies are an acceptable alternative on September 11, 2017 for returning Cadets. Cadets needing to EXCHANGE uniform parts may do so by bringing in their items in a bag with their name and a list of what they are returning.
For cadets who plan to attend the Scottish/Irish Parade and who need to EXCHANGE uniform items that no longer fit, they can do so on Thursday September 7th from 5pm to 7pm at Active Self Storage, 400 Sidney Street, Trenton, enter the front door.
Please add the following events to your calendar for the 2017-2018 Training Year:
* Saturday 9th September - Scottish/Irish Parade- Arena at Centennial Park - 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM - Summer Dress
• Monday 11th September – First Training Night, at Marc Garneau School 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM
• Sunday 17th September – Battle of Britain Parade - 413 Wing Trenton 10:00 AM Battle of Britain Parade - 418 Wing Belleville 10:00 AM
* Sunday 17th September - Fall Gliding – Mountain View 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM Fall Gliding – Mountain View 12:30 PM to 4:00 PM *Cadets who attend the Battle of Britain Parade in the morning will be able to go Gliding in the afternoon. *Dress for the Battle of Britain Parade is Full Uniform including Tunic, Tie and Medals (if awarded) *When attending Gliding cadets MUST have their Health Cards, should bring sun screen, hat, jacket, and water bottle. Sunglasses are optional but good to have.
• Monday 18th September - Parents Committee Fall Bottle Drive - Please drop off the bottles to the Parents Committee at Marc Garneau School when cadets are dropped off.
*Saturday 30th September - AD ASTRA Stone Dedication Ceremony – National Air Force Museum 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM - Dress is Full Uniform including Tunic, Tie and Medals (if awarded).
• Friday 6th October – Fall Tag Day (Various Locations) 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM • Saturday 7th October – Fall Tag Day (Various Locations) 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM • Saturday 7th October – Fall Tag Day (Various Locations) 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM *When Tagging, Cadets should be prepared for the weather by bringing Cadet Parka for rain or cold and sunscreen if Tagging in the sun.
• Saturday 14th October – Orienteering Competition (Details to Follow)
• Saturday 14th October - 413 Air Force Association Annual Spaghetti Dinner -Fundraiser for 704 Squadron. Families Welcome and Encouraged!!!
• Friday, Saturday, Sunday 20th to 22nd October – Fall Field Training Exercise (FTX) * Details to follow
• Saturday 28th October - 413 Wing Air Force Association Dinner – 8 Cadets needed to serve.
• Friday 10th November – Overnight Vigil – at Trenton Cenotaph *Full uniform with parka required – details to follow.
• Saturday 11th November – Remembrance Day Ceremony – at Trenton Cenotaph * Full uniform with parka required – details to follow.
• Saturday 19th November - Band at Belleville Santa Claus Parade – 4:00 PM * Full uniform with parka required – details to follow.
• Saturday 25th November – Squadron at Frankford Santa Claus Parade * Full uniform with parka required – details to follow.
* Saturday 25th November - 413 Wing Charter Night Dinner - 6 Cadets needed to serve
• Sunday 26th November – Squadron/Band at Trenton Santa Claus Parade * Full uniform with parka required – details to follow.
• Monday 18th December - 704 Christmas Dinner * Details to follow.
• The Squadron is planning an overnight trip in March during the School March Break. Tentative dates are 11-12 March 2018. * Location being investigated: Warplane Heritage Museum in Hamilton overnight program.
• Weather permitting, a Saturday ski day at the Bata Ski Hill is being considered for the cadets.
OPC Lottery Tickets: The sale of these tickets benefit our Squadron so we are able to attend trips and optional activities. Each Cadet is expected to sell one book. This year our Sponsoring Committee would like $60.00 up front in September from each cadet for the book of tickets When the tickets are sold, return only the stubs and keep the money.
Some extra activities for our cadets this year may include: 1. Band 2. Drill 3. Effective Speaking 4. Exertion 5. Ground School 6. Marksmanship 7. Orienteering
